Reflection time.. and we throw it back to August 15th, 2014.. and we have just created our first ever athletic speed suit and hoping to get its first international debut in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at the Mano a Mano Athletics Challenge.
Usain Bolt of Jamaica will be sprinting 100m down the Copacabana beach that will include Mark Lewis-Francis of Great Britain, Jefferson Liberato Lucindo of Brazil..but more importantly.. our very own Wallace Spearmon Jr. of the United States.
Although Wallace was nursing a recovery from a hernia and had a low key season, he wanted to support us in the best way possible by wearing the Legacy speed suit on the big stage. Although Bolt won the event in 10.06, our main concern was not only how the suit would support and function on Spearmon’s body, but although the heat and if it would withstand.
Lucky for us, He put it through its paces and tweeted out that it felt like a second skin, with our support tape doing its work in increasing muscle compression and resistance.
From his feedback and our reflections, we were happy to put the Legacy suit in to the market with only 50 suits to be made. It was Black Mamba Elite’s first major international TV showing and gained huge media interest to the brand.
